How to know if you need to replace your wall heater.
Probably the most common question we get from the homeowner is, if they need to replace their existing wall heater, and usually when we come into their house, the gas company has already been there.
Is the gas company the one that tag the heaters when they have a problem, and they write the problem down on the tag , so when the contractor or technician comes to do the repair, they know what to look for.
Now, is up to the contractor to determine if your heater needs to be replaced but, what are the things we consider before we recommend to replace it. There are only 2 main reasons to replace your wall heater (Or least the 2 most common)
Reason #1 – Wall heater is too old
This is by far the most common reason to replace your existing wall heater. If your heater is too old, most likely we won’t be able to find the parts needed to do any repair, or it will be necessary to replace several parts and won’t be cost effective to move forward with the repairs. In other words, will be cheaper to just install a new wall heater.
Reason #2 – My wall heater look too bad on my new-remodel hose
It sounds silly, but this would be the second most common reason why a homeowner would replace a wall heater. Specially if they are flipping the house.
As you can see, there are no many reasons as to why replace your old wall heater.
A good rule of thumb is if the cost of any repair is more than half of the cost of getting a new one. Don’t waste your money and replace that old heater.
Think that you’ll be getting peace of mind, knowing that your family is safe, no possible gas leaks, no broken parts and most important you will keep your family warm and comfortable during the winter.
